Angela is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT #125073). She began providing psychotherapy in 2017 to counseling students, faculty and staff at the California Baptist University Counseling Center. Angela also received her master’s degree in clinical counseling at California Baptist University (2018) following the completion of her bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University of San Bernardino. From May 2019-August 2021 Angela worked at an agency contracted with the County of San Bernardino that provides services for high-risk, dual-diagnosed, homeless, foster and transitional aged youth and their care-givers on a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Angela has experience working with teens, young adults, individuals, couples and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Angela’s experience includes but is not limited to helping client’s work through symptoms of major depressive disorder, bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD and adjustment disorder using various interventions adapted to the client’s specific therapeutic needs. Her most commonly used psychotherapy approaches that she incorporates in treatment are cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered therapy, solution focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and structural family therapy. She is also trained in faith integration Christian therapy if a client desires that in treatment.
Angela has a passion for teaching effective communication, healthy boundaries, and emotional regulation. Her calling in life is to help with the transformation of individuals and families using her education/clinical training and life experiences to enrich the client’s therapeutic experience.
